Indigo, India’s largest airline with over 60% domestic market share, has (finally) announced its new loyalty program — IndiGo BluChip.
The program is now open for pre-registrations, and is offering a chance to win Indigo BluChip points (or BluChips).
Here’s what you can win:
- One participant stands a chance to get 18,000 IndiGo BluChips.
- 50 participants daily will stand a chance to accumulate 1,800 IndiGo BluChips.

For frequent flyers on domestic routes in India, flying with Indigo is almost unavoidable. Despite being a no-frills airline (won’t call it a low-cost carrier), the limited alternatives often leave you with no other choice.
Previously, the absence of a loyalty program was a notable disadvantage, particularly when fares were comparable to or even higher than those of full-service carriers with loyalty programs.
Fortunately, this is now changing. You can now expect to earn and redeem points and enjoy status benefits when you fly with Indigo as well.
What do we know so far about the program?
Indigo has kept many details under wraps, but here’s what we know about the program:
- The loyalty program will be called IndiGo BluChip.
- Reward points will be known as BluChips.
- Existing members of the 6E Credit Card rewards program can migrate to the new program without needing to pre-register.
- The program will be spend-based rather than distance-based. Points will be earned based on ticket cost—a common practice nowadays.
- BluChips can be used for booking Indigo tickets for both oneself and nominees.
- Each IndiGo BluChip is likely valued at Re. 1 and can be used partially or fully towards ticket costs.
- BluChips will have lifetime validity as long as you maintain an active account—great news for those who prefer accumulating points for occasional trips.
